Franz Schubert (1797-1828) was born in Vienna, the centre for classic composers.
He was a friend of Beethoven, and composed all kinds of music.
The focus of his work was song, with all its richness and melodies.
His music was appreciated by a circle of friends, musicians, artists and writers, who called their meetings “Schubertiaden”.
All the ideas of his songs came from the poetry of his time.
The song “Heidenroslein” is one of his most famous, ad was composed 1815 in accordance with a poem of Goethe.
This bear is made from brown mohair plush, with excelsior filling, and is wearing a beautiful blue velvet jacket, and is a scroll of music.
