In 1908 six colored bears were commissioned for presentation in London.
Four were never seen again: pink, yellow, green and black.
Until now! Thanks to a passionate and knowledgeable Steiff collector, a never-before-seen black 1908 bear has at last been discovered.
The bear’s name is Bruno.

Steiff’s archivist and designers carefully studied his intricate details and the result is a replica that is truly a masterpiece.
His dark red stitched claws and fine sculpting echo the look of the original in each and every way.

Steiff’s archivist was fascinated to see Bruno’s sand-colored double mouth stitch.
It is an unusual, noteworthy detail that mirrors the first black bear made in 1907 as a prototype.
A detail that Richard Steiff used to enhance the lifelike appearance of his bears.
Made of mohair. Like his predecessor, this rare 1908 Replica Teddy is stuffed with wood wool and features a growler.

Just as the original Teddy of 1908, he has wooden eyes and bears the underscored steel button-in-ear with an original replicated ear tag.
