His little Teddy bear friend is 5-way jointed and made from fine Schulte mohair. Mickey is made from felt and has expressive embroidered eyes.

Steiff was actually the first company to be granted a license to make Mickey Mouse toys. These were very popular and by the end of 1931 Steiff made 30.000 toys in one year alone. By 1936 the number had increased to 53,000 Mickeys and an additional 13,000 Minnies.
